If you’re like me, you’ve been totally blown away and proud of the excellence displayed by Team USA at the Summer Olympics. It is so exciting to see the best of the best!

In celebration, I’m preparing to have an easy dinner with friends to watch the closing ceremony this weekend. Knowing the pageantry and grandeur of this final observance made it easy for me to decide how to dress my table.

Like Team USA, in true Rio Olympic style I am going for the GOLD!

Ribbon Charger

These gold ribbon chargers are the perfect plate for my friends who love to eat! They are an easy way to maximize the amount of food you take…without looking like you’re being piggish!

Next up, creating the symbol of the Olympic rings.

I unhooked a bunch of these 3 round interlocked napkin rings…….

Ring Napkin Ring

and turned them into the 5 ring Olympic symbol.

Olympic Rings

I have viewed the games since childhood but I never knew the significance of the 5 interlocking rings. For those of you like me, the answer is they represent the five different areas of the world involved in the Olympics North and South America are considered one area, along with Africa, Australia, Asia and Europe.

And of course no Olympic competition is complete with out the Torch.

Olympic Place setting

I placed one “torch” between the plates and Olympic rings.  Finishing it off, I made small arrangements of blue and red flowers and put them in white vases to the side of each place setting!

Olympic Angle TableSetting

The gold and white striped tablecloth with the red runner and complimenting navy blue napkins scream Team USA, fun and festive! Of course you can choose any combination of these colors (linens, plates and glasses) to create your Olympic celebration.

Enjoy the rest of the 2016 Summer Olympics and please let me know…..Are you doing anything special to celebrate the games?
